A1 opened in 2001 with one bay and one tech, and a rule that has not moved since: if we would not put it on our own car, we do not put it on yours. Two shops later, the same faces are still behind the counter.
What we handle
Six things make up most of what comes through the door. Side and rear glass, sunroof glass and headlight restoration are handled too, and they are all on the services page.
Most jobs, 60 to 90 minutes
We stock OEM equivalent glass from PGW, Carlite, FYG, Carlex and Pilkington, so the right windshield for your car is usually already on the rack. DOW and Sika certified urethane means you drive away in about an hour.

About 30 minutes, no appointment
A chip smaller than a quarter can usually be filled and sealed before it runs. Self pay starts at $35.99, and it is often $0 if you carry comprehensive coverage. Walk in and we will look at it.
When it can be saved
Static and dynamic, in house
Most 2016 and newer cars have a camera behind the windshield that runs lane keep and automatic braking. Move the glass and that camera has to be taught where the road is again. We do it here on Autel certified equipment, so there is no second trip to a dealer.

The van carries the glass, the urethane and the vacuum. We have done driveways, work car parks and the side of a fire station. The one job that cannot travel is static target ADAS calibration, which has to happen in the shop.

A window that drops into the door or grinds and stops is usually a regulator or a motor, not the glass. We diagnose which one it is first, and we stock parts for most domestic and import cars.

Most glass work in San Diego County is booked through a call center and subcontracted to whoever is free. This is not that. You get the shop that does the work, and if something is not right afterwards you come back to the same counter.
